Everything comes together well in this. The chords, melody, the way you played some parts more softly, the mood, all of it works for the intro to an RPG.
I don't really like the reverb sound on it, though. It's kind of slathered all over the piece, which can be a little painful to hear, especially at the start. Something a bit more subtle would fit the piece more, IMO. Otherwise, solid composition!

Why thank you! I'll work on the reverb and try to make it less apparent; I guess I'll see how that sounds. =P

It's good! It starts off with a fairly simple idea and develops it well. The only real thing that felt wrong was the lack of bass frequencies. I mean, considering the mood of the piece that was probably intentional, but a nice double bass would fit in really well. Honestly though it felt like it would fit right in in an RPG.

It has enough presence, don't you worry about it. It's tight, full and fun. The only bit that doesn't quite fit is the piano, it sounds like you sampled Final Fantasy and it just doesn't fit for something this fun. Otherwise, it's good, solid, lovely.

good, true, right

glad you thought it was FUN, despite the imperfections!

Oh my God that intro was generic. I'm glad the drum and bass section was much more interesting, though. I'll download it off the strengths of that midsection, but you can't excuse an intro that generic.

The production is professional and crisp, but it's a little too generic for me to really get into it. You've got a good solid foundation with production like this, now you need to start getting *really* creative.

I thought this was fine in al the technical aspects. The chopping and stuttering was well-executed, you had some good sounds going, bass was a little too loud but still clear enough to sound good. But I can't really give it a three because of how bare it was, for lack of a better term. You could have done so much more with this, IMO, you could have maybe used some pads, made a quick melody and played about with it.

After finally getting round to hearing this, it's hard to imagine you NOT winning the competition. Awesome work, man. It's not often you hear stuff as ambitious as this on Newgrounds.
